LEGACY OF PUBLIC ART

The Vancouver Biennale Foundation is committed to acquiring a minimum of two major pieces of sculpture from the 2009-2011 exhibition for the purpose of offering them on long-term loan to Vancouver and surrounding areas for public display. It is our way of saying thank you to the community and ensuring that the city benefits from a legacy of internationally acclaimed works of art for many generations to come. Sculptures proposed for this purpose will be submitted to the appropriate municipal department for standard review and consultation.

Five sculptures were acquired from the 2005-2007 Vancouver Biennale: Magdalena Abakanowicz (Poland), Dennis Oppenheim (USA), Sorel Etrog (Canada), Bernar Venet (France) and John Clements (USA).
