Creating "Loco-Foco-Motto"

May, 2010 - Aberdeen Centre, Richmond

Indian artist, Hema Upadhyay created 6 matchstick chandeliers at the Aberdeen Centre over a period of 3 weeks with the help of local volunteers. It took 750,000 matchsticks to make the art work and the chandeliers are currently on display at the Aberdeen Centre. Listen to Hema discuss the process of making these spectacular pieces and where the idea for this installation came from.

How do you pronounce "Biennale"?

November, 2010 - Denman and Davie, Vancouver

Erin Ireland engages Vancouver public art fans at the installation of Yue Minjun's "A-Maze-Ing Laughter" near English Bay. As people wander among the sculpture by the famous Chinese artist, Erin asks them to help her pronounce the word "Biennale". This is a fun and humorous way to learn something new about the Vancouver Biennale. Thanks, Erin for doing such a great job. This is so much fun.
