John Henry

Born in 1943 in Kentucky, John Henry’s large scale metal sculptures have established the artist as one of America’s most important artists. Henry began his career as a painter of large-scale canvases and since the 1960’s has moved into sculpture as another form of creativity. While varying in scale and size, Henry’s monumental sculptures stand as some of the world’s largest contemporary sculptures. He is the curator of the Outdoor Museum of Art at Chattanooga State College, Tennessee, as well as curator of many international exhibits. In 2003, John Henry was awarded the Kentucky Governor General’s award in the Arts. http://www.johnhenrysculptor.com.
